Nike launches Pegasus Premium running shoes. An elevated version of their popular Pegasus running shoe. Featuring Nike’s first ever full length Air Zoom unit, meant to carry energy from heel to toe, creating one of their most responsive shoes yet.

• I’ve been waiting for this shoe to officially come out, as it looks awesome. But let’s talk about Nike the last several months… New CEO, Elliott Hill, starts in October, a few weeks ago they announced the Nike After Dark Tour for a Women’s race series, Jordan launches brilliant “You Can’t Ban Me” campaign before the Grammys, and now they roll out Pegasus Premium shoes with first of it’s kind technology. Nike might just be back.

Chubby Snacks is reportedly shutting down. Allegedly due to mounting legal fees, largely in part from Smuckers suing them over claims of false advertising and trademark dilution.

• This is a tough one because we don’t know the exact details of the shutdown, legal fees, and financial situation going on. My opinion is somewhere in the middle. Is it a bad idea to have misleading claims on your packaging (reportedly), and piss off the big corporate competitor? Ya. Does is suck that an up and coming brand trying to shake things up gets taken down because they are drowning in legal fees? Ya. Both can be true. Probably a lesson to be learned here.

SportIQ’s smart basketball technology chosen for NBA launchpad program. A basketball that provides real time shot tracking for shooting form, consistency, accuracy, and game shooting.

• I got my hands on one of these basketballs and it’s sweet. I was a little skeptical that it’d be a low quality ball given that tech is involved, but that is not the case at all. It’s super high quality. We live in an increasingly data driven world. And we’ve seen this shift in the health & fitness space with fitness wearables, sleep trackers, glucose patches, and more. But this kind of tech also has massive potential in sports.

Alo upgrades their Roblox Yoga Sanctuary to target a younger demographic. Including additions of branded workout equipment, cold plunges, and meditation & yoga spaces.

• My initial thought here was this is dumb. Why is Alo investing more into a virtual wellness world? Who is interested in this stuff? But then I looked up some numbers and found that this Alo Roblox Sanctuary has 450,000+ members and nearly half of them are teens. Maybe I am just not hip anymore and this is the future.

Lifetime adds a CGM to their product suite through Dexcom’s Stelo biosensor. Starting in 2025, Life Time members will be able to purchase this CGM to track and get insights into their glucose levels.

• Life Time has been on quite the tear recently rolling out new products. They recently scaled up their supplement line, launched longevity clinics, and now unveil this CGM partnership. Along with this, they’ve completely shifted their messaging to be a “Wellness Country Club”, and not just a family gym. They are going hard at becoming an all encompassing health, wellness, and fitness company.

Hiveact begins testing for interactive training device. A dynamic fitness ecosystem for sports, fitness, cognition, and recovery. Coming in the form of a reactive training device that pairs with an app tracking reaction time, agility, perception, and overall fitness.

• This tech appears to be in its early stages, but I thought it looked pretty interesting so wanted to share. Just another example of a unique way tech is being integrated into fitness, sports, and overall health.
